Chapter of the Year Award

Emory Bogardus Chapter of the Year Award

Alpha Kappa Delta is pleased to announce the 2018-2019 recipient:

University of Nebraska - Omaha

In 2018-19, the University of Nebraska-Omaha (Alpha of Nebraska chapter) recognized students for their scholarship and research, supported students going into sociology or other related professions/occupations, and promoted campus-based and community-based  service activities. Some examples include, but are not limited to, organized an annual symposium that provided an outlet for sociology students to present their research to the campus community; started a Videography Project to create a comprehensive video highlighting AKD members and UNO Sociology graduates; held a film viewing of Polygamy in America and had a panel discussion afterwards; raised funds for Hurricane Harvey Victims' Relief (raised enough for 4,256 meals to go to hurricane victims in the Coastal Bend Area); and held a Holiday Drive Angel Tree and Holiday Toy Drive for CASA Foster Children.

Thank you to all the chapters who submitted an application. Your service and commitment to AKD is admirable!
